Virtual Vs in Person Fitness Training

VIRTUAL PERSONAL TRAINING VS TRAINING IN THE GYM

Virtual personal training and training in the gym are two different things that produce the same result. You get to work out and have a trainer who frequently checks up on you. In this article, we examine how personal training can be done online, and the benefits of carrying out your fitness training online.

Although the former entails having a smartphone, a laptop or a desktop computer, the latter involves a one-on-one session. Both have been proven useful over the years when the need arises.

However, moments like the Covid-19 crisis have required personal training online to be in high demand. This means that staying fit can be an achievable feat during this period. You don’t have to be in contact with a trainer or drive all the way to the gym. You can do this within the comfort of your home when you intend to do it. After all, the world has gone digital.

We virtually do most things online – shopping, schooling, business transactions, staying in touch with your loved ones and many more. Fitness training online is no exception. As long as you find a suitable trainer and observe instructions, you are good to go.

WHAT IS VIRTUAL PERSONAL TRAINING?

Virtual Personal Training involves fitness training via Skype, Zoom, Facetime and other video conferencing applications. Oftentimes, it involves a virtual personal trainer who conducts personalized training sessions. They prepare a workout program just for you, consider the pieces of equipment you have access to and the type of exercises you like to do. Your age, sex, height, weight and conditions are taken into full consideration to go along with your fitness level. After designing the program, we may design a diet plan to show results. Moreover, you get lots of motivational tips via text messages, phone calls, e-mail and online platforms like Zoom, Skype and so on  to keep you motivated while working out.

Virtual personal training may necessarily not involve a trainer. You can download an app or follow a page on a social platform and key into their workout sessions. However, having a trainer will be a preferable option if you wish to achieve a set target.

WHAT IS TRAINING IN THE GYM?

On the other hand, training in the gym involves working out in a sporting facility. Here, you can exercise by using machines, weights and other pieces of equipment to stay fit. Your training session can be individualized or be in groups. Workout is carried out in a variety of ways to match your needs. Also, you can meet different people who can help you out with your activities if need be.

CRITERIA IN CHOOSING EITHER VIRTUAL PERSONAL TRAINING OR TRAINING IN THE GYM

There are some criteria you would like to consider when you want to try out virtual personal training or training in the gym. Here are some tips:

  • EVALUATE SITES

There are numerous sites as well as mobile applications that offer virtual personal training. You should choose the one that is suitable for you. It could be based on your fitness goals, budgets, the pieces of equipment you have or the type of exercise you enjoy. For instance, you will not want to choose a virtual heavyweight trainer if you want to engage in yoga.

  • EVALUATE YOUR BUDGET

Find out the cost of the site you wish to apply for and how much you can spend on it. This is an integral part of virtual training. This is because various sites require membership fees and then charge per day or per session for personal training. You have to consider how often you are willing to use it. In spite of this, they are cost effective. For instance, virtual personal training costs $69-89 per session on our site.

  • EVALUATE YOUR TRAINER

Trainers are not limited geographically. You can train with anyone you want in the world. However, you have to evaluate your trainers based on their education, experience, certification and review. Ensure they are accredited by a government or well-respected organization like the American Council on Exercise. Also, if you have medical conditions, you can look for trainers who have worked with people similar to you. For instance, if you specialize in weight lifting, you will have to work with a trainer who lifts weight.

  • REQUEST WORKOUT SAMPLES

Requesting workout samples from the fitness website is vital to making your choice. You have to be able to feel comfortable with your trainer even though it may take time. Request workout samples that will convince you if you truly want to work out with that trainer. If not, you may not flow with your virtual trainer. This may inhibit your training process.

  • EVALUATE YOUR SCHEDULE

Virtual trainers are available when you need them and can work with you where you choose to work.  Let them know when you want to work out with them. Avoid late class cancelation as it attracts extra costs.

BENEFITS OF PERSONAL TRAINING ONLINE

  • COST EFFECTIVE

Personal training online is usually affordable and cost effective. With its cheapness, you can get the results you desire. Beginning from $80, you can participate in virtual fitness training sessions.

  • EASY TO ACCESS

Online fitness training can be accessible anywhere you are. This means you can work with your trainer when you are on a business trip in Los Angeles or a vacation in Hawaii.

  • SUITS  PERSONAL NEEDS

Fitness training online is tailored to meet your specific needs. That means you can workout with a trainer who knows who you really are and what your body needs. By specifying your needs to your trainer, you can easily practise the exercises meant for you.

BOTTOM LINE

Virtual personal training and training in the gym are both excellent ways to keep fit and even burn off a few extra pounds. However, considering the present state we find ourselves in, virtual training may be the way to go. Virtual personal training is tailor-made to meet your specific needs and requirements. It affords you the opportunity to decide what’s best for you, and the freedom to work at your own pace. And crucially, it allows you to continue with your fitness routine, even when gyms are shut.
