Runner’s boot camp 03-19-2017
Every Sunday at 10:00am we host a free local boot camp. The class focuses on building strong muscles so that you can crush your running goals.
We build programs that focus on the big muscle groups in the legs and the core to build up a solid foundation for running. We add exercises that develop strength and power to conquer long runs injury free.
Today we had a great boot camp using body weight exercises. We focused on legs, core, and a little upper body. Everyone did a great job keeping up with the exercises.
Our workout included squats, jump squats, side lunges, planks, and push-ups. Many of the exercises were compound movements that train all the big muscles to work together, or lateral movements to strengthen the muscles that help us with agility.

1a. Over-head squats 3×15
1b. Jump squats 3×10
- Side lunges 3×10 per side
- Inch worms 3×10
- Plank-ups 3×10
- Plank with leg raises 3×10 per side
- V sit up 3×15
- Ice skaters 3×10 per side
- Side planks 3×10
- Alternative Arm/ Leg Raises 3×10 per side
