Review of the Carets cap-toe Fer Oxford

August 6, 2019 Posted by David Nickum reviews

Recently the CEO of the Carets company reached out to me an asked me to try out his dress shoes. I found this to be odd at first because I am a personal training company but after he explained that the shoe is like the Altra running shoe I was excited to try the dress shoe and review it on my website.

The Caret shoe is the only shoe company that I have heard of that offers a minimalist dress shoe with a zero drop. This allows for a natural gait while walking in the dress shoe.

Here is my review of the cap-toe Fer Oxford from Carets

The feel

The feel of this dress shoe was amazing. As a runner, it’s hard to find a comfortable dress shoe. My feet are a wide from running in Altra’s for so long that finding a dress shoe that fits well is challenging. The cap-toe Fer Oxford addresses this by having a wide toe box very much like the Altra running shoe. This allows me to enjoy my evenings in style after a long run without feeling uncomfortable. The minimalist zero drop heel takes a little bit of getting used to but feels great after you used to it.

The look

The look of the cap-toe Fer Oxford is great. The color and the material used is high end. While wearing the shoe at a wedding many friends were asking about the shoe and said that they liked the design a lot. If you want a narrow toe box look this shoe is not for you. The shoe is made from high quality material and the look of the shoe reflects this.

The price

The cap-toe Fer Oxford is not a cheap shoe but the shoe is worth the price. The price tag is $350 but because of the high quality it’s worth the cost. I plan on getting a pair of the FER Cap-Toe Honey style when they have some available.

Key points

First would I recommend this shoe, Yes I would. The shoe is a good change of pace from the narrow box shoes that are on the market today. The extra room in the toe gives me comfort and style. The minimalist sole of the shoe takes the pressure off my heel and keeps me comfortable when on my feet. The price is a little high but if you’re in the high-end shoe it’s worth the cost.
