Personal Training at home

Personal training at home

Personal Training at home

Posted by David Nickum Uncategorized

I’ve been a personal trainer at gyms and I have traveled to client’s homes for training. My clients enjoyed both forms of training but in home training fit the needs of my client much better. Currently many of the people I work with have busy lifestyles that don’t give them time to hit the gym.

The main reason that people are using personal trainers is accountability. Most of the people I meet with won’t even think about working out unless someone comes into their home and gets them moving. I hear it from my clients all the time “I wouldn’t workout unless you showed up at my door”.

I started a in home personal training company to solve this problem for all the people that can’t find time for the gym and won’t work out on their own. Most people can’t fit fitness into their lives and we have built sometime to solve this for our clients.

For anyone looking for personal training we want to show you what personal training at home is. We want to give show you some of the benefits of in home personal training.

Here are some reasons why you might want to try personal training in your home.

Saves Time

If you’re looking for a personal trainer but don’t have a lot of time to work out having someone come to your home might be the right choice. Travel time to the gym can be anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes each way and you must find a place to park on top of that. Having a personal trainer come to your home cuts all this mess out of your day. After a long day at work dealing with extra commute time might not be something that you want to do. In a world where every minute counts sparing an extra 20-45 minutes might appeal to you.

Less stress

Having to go the gym for many people can be stressful. Getting the outfit right and working out in front of people might be frightening for some. Having a personal trainer or working out on your own at home can keep you away from the stress at the gym. I have built a gym in my basement for this very reason because I hate waiting for equipment and I like to work out in a clean space. Half the time when I hit the gym I must change my workout plan because someone is using the equipment that I wanted to use. Most of the people I train agree that it’s less stressful to have me come to their home to train them.

Avoid the locker room

The locker room at the gym can be a gross place that is hardly private. With dirty towels on the floor and grime in the shower who wants to try to get clean in this place. When you work out at home you can skip this and shower in the comfort of your own home. When you meet with a personal trainer at the gym you still must deal with all the annoying parts of the gym that you won’t deal with working out at home.

Accountability

There is no better accountability than having someone come to your door to get you to workout. All you need to do is answer the door and get moving. Driving to the gym takes time and that is a barrier to getting to your fitness goals. The rate of clients canceling on me goes way down with in home personal training vs personal training at the gym. Having someone come to you to get you going leaves you with no excuses.

Cost

Personal training rates at the gym have gone way up. When I started, rates were around $65 per session and now they are starting around $99 per session. My company’s rates start at $69 per session and we plan on keeping our pricing low because we have lower overhead than the gym. Having someone come to your home might fit into your budget a little bit better than the gym.

Family friendly

Many of my clients are mothers and fathers. They can’t find a sitter for their child sometimes and this gets in the way of the workout. Having a in home personal training helps with this problem because we can train you even when the child is in the home. It’s not ideal to train someone when they have a little one running around but it beats the alternative of not working out at all.

We bring the gym

When you have a personal trainer come to your home you don’t have to worry about having a gym. We bring most of the things you will need with us. One of our favorite things to use is the TRX training system because it can be used anywhere. We also bring a light weight bands, slider disks and medicine balls to get the job done. We can’t bring heavy weights which can be a down side to in home personal training.

The downside of personal training at home

Personal training at home is a good choice for some but it’s not for everyone. If you’re goal is to deadlift 400 pounds personal training in your home might not be the best idea unless you have a full gym. Some people enjoy getting out of the house for a little bit and enjoy the chance of pace when they go to the gym. In home personal training doesn’t provide this get away from home. The gym provides a social setting for some and if you enjoy that we encourage you to use the gym instead of personal training at home.

Conclusion

Life is busy and it’s hard to find time to work out. Using a personal trainer at the home might help save some time and money. Having a personal trainer come to your home can reduce stress by not having to deal with all that comes with going to the gym. The gym has a lot of complex equipment that you might not be able to use at the home. The gym might be a social setting that you enjoy.

If you don’t like driving to the gym or dealing with all the people at the gym in home personal training might be the right fit for you.
