Health During Quarantine Is Online Fitness Coaching Worth It?

Health During Quarantine Is Online Fitness Coaching Worth It?

Posted by David Nickum fitness

With COVID-19 spreading at every corner and the situation with quarantine becoming present in countries all around the world, many things have changed. Some for the better, and some for the worse, but there’s something that remains as a truth: it has been a really hard time for a lot of people.

Still, with the introduction of quarantine, people started to understand that there are things that were often ignored, that can actually have a huge impact on our daily lives. A good example of this is how mental health started to gain a lot of protagonism just because of the effects of quarantine.

Not being able to go outside and meet up with friends and family took a very heavy toll on people, which became one of the reasons why people started to deal with problems related to poor mental health. Depression, anxiety, insomnia… There are many problems that were enhanced because of the current situation.

However, with the awareness brought by media and specialists, people started to engage in new practices for the sake of improving their physical and mental health. Painting, drawing, writing, taking care of plants, getting a pet, and exercising were among the most recommended activities to practice during quarantine.

For that reason, some people started to hire online fitness coaching services like bodytransformationcoach.com to engage in effective exercising routines that would definitely bring results.

That is why, in this article, we will talk about whether a fitness coach is actually worth it when it comes to online services, and why exercises matter so much during quarantine.

First of All, Let’s Talk About Exercising and Health

Believe it or not, your overall health is heavily related to how physically active you are. People with sedentary lifestyles are not only more prompt to suffering from insomnia and lack of energy, but they are also very likely to suffer from depression, just because of this single concept: a sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body.

This pretty much means that in order to be in peace (which is the closest you can be to real happiness) you need to have a mentally stable mind and a healthy body. Of course, both are heavily correlated between them, because a healthy body can help you achieve a healthy mind, and a healthy mind can motivate you to achieve a healthier body.

This is why, during quarantine, is so important to remain active and engage in exercises on a regular basis. Did you know that those who practice a sport or train with weight-based routines are less likely to suffer from depression? The reason is very simple: exercising helps the body release and regulate specific hormones that are greatly linked to happiness, productivity, focus, and mindfulness.

Thankfully, with the awareness brought by the world when it comes to quarantine, several organizations decided to help out people and provide valuable information about the things they can do to improve their situation. A very good example of this is the World’s Health Organization, which came up with this article over here to help out people deal with the current situation.

However, some people decided to rely on coaches as well, which is a very good way to engage in exercises. But are they as efficient when it comes to online classes?

Exercising with an Online Coach

For some people, working from home and dealing with exercises is harder, just because they can’t find the motivation to remain consistent. As someone who works from home even before quarantine started, I can agree to a certain extent. However, I do believe that working from home is much more comfortable and easy to deal with than going to an office, and the same rule applies to me when it comes to exercises.

My reasoning is simple: I have to spend less time commuting, and I have more freedom when I need to finish tasks or engage in exercise routines. But it is true that it doesn’t work for everyone, just because some people lack the motivation, discipline, or mindset to engage in those two things while being constantly trapped in their houses.

That is why, first of all, you should try to find something that works for you. An online fitness coach might one of the best choices you have, considering that gyms are limited nowadays. A lot of people can agree that the moment you start paying for a service that is meant to aid you in your adventure towards a specific goal, you start taking things a little more seriously, and the same can be said when a coach is involved in your training.

But the most important thing is that a coach is often capable of deciding a routine that works for you, meaning that you won’t have to spend a lot of time experimenting or deciding what to do. A coach is also capable of pushing you towards your limits, which is a very important thing if fitness is your main goal.

The greatest advantage of hiring an online coach, however, is the incredible amount of flexibility and attention you will receive. Talking out things with your coach will allow you to set up dates that work perfectly for both parties involved, and the fact that the coach will be paying attention to you on a more detailed matter will ensure that you are doing everything correctly.

Of course, the benefits of hiring an online fitness coach, but there are some problems as well. Still, you also have some methods to deal with these problems.

Possible Drawbacks

The biggest problem when it comes to online classes is drive. As I mentioned earlier, a lot of people lose their motivation during quarantine, just because of all the circumstances that came up because of it. However, an easy way to remain consistent about something is by creating a routine that works for you. A good example of this is how I often engage in exercises during the morning, just because I feel I am the most energetic during this time.

To come up with a great plan, assess your situation, your plans, and how you deal with your daily responsibilities, then decide accordingly.

Another common drawback when dealing with an online class is related to how much attention people pay to the class itself. Having a good audio system or wireless headphones will definitely help you with this.
