7 Weight Loss Rules: Lose Weight without Dieting

There are much easier things you can do than dieting to keep pounds off permanently. A few changes to your lifestyle here and there, and you’re all set!

If you’re wondering what these easy weight loss rules here, keep on reading.

Rule #1: Eat Breakfast Everyday

Losing weight isn’t about starving yourself; it’s about eating the right things in the right amount to improve your body’s metabolism and lose weight.

This is where the most important meal of the day comes in. Breakfast is a great way to cut calories. By skipping it, you end up consuming more during the day to fight off hunger pangs.

Anything from a bowl of wholegrain cereal to low-fat dairy and fruit can help you perform and feel better throughout the day.

Rule #2: Choose Liquid Calories Wisely

Sweetened drinks may seem like the best way to end a long, stressful day at work, but if you knew the damage they do to your body, you’d think twice before buying one again.

Sweetened drinks pile on calories and don’t reduce hunger like solid foods. The same goes for alcoholic drinks.

If you’re only looking to satisfy your thirst, go for nature’s refreshment—water! You can even try a glass of fresh juice or a vegetable smoothie.

Rule #3: Eat More Produce

Eating lots of low-calorie and high-volume fruits and vegetables can help you steer clear of foods higher in fat and calories.

Pile on the vegetables and go for broth-based protein items to maintain a low-calorie diet that’s still healthy and well-balanced.

Filling up on nutritious produce can help you enrich your body with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Rule #4: Go For the Grain

Substitute whole grains for refined grains.

Cut out the white-bread, pretzels, cakes, and cookies from your diet to move on to healthier alternatives for fiber. These will help you fill-up faster too.

You can opt for whole-wheat bread, brown rice, bran flakes, pasta, and popcorn.

Rule #5: Control Your Environment

If you have delicious brownies sitting in the fridge, there’s only so much you can do to resist the temptation.

A simple strategy to cut calories is to control your environment by limiting your access to food that will make you gain weight.

You should stop stocking up on chips and snacks, and even resist the tempting to sip that occasional martini on the weekends.

Rule #6: Trim Your Portions

Did you know that if you do nothing and simply reduce your portions by 10 to 20 percent, you’ll still lose weight?

Most of the portions served at home or restaurants are bigger than you need. The best way to portion control is to use smaller plates, bowls, and cups to eat, so the food still looks plentiful on dainty dishware, and you don’t feel like you’re starving yourself.

Rule #7: Hire a Professional Trainer

No matter how many changes you make to your diet, stubborn fat is always hard to get rid of. Thankfully, you have a solution for that too—exercising!

Physical activity burns the calories in your body for weight loss. Even if you ate a little more than usual at that buffet last night, exercising helps you get back on track easily.
