10 Tips on How to Lose Weight

July 8, 2020 Posted by David Nickum Nutrition

You just saw your neighbor after a vacation and she looks pretty spectacular. The first thing you ask her is, “What’s your weight loss secret?” Sadly, her weight loss advice didn’t work for you.

There are many fad diets online on how to lose weight. If you are fed up of trying diets then we suggest that you leave them altogether!

Here are ten weight loss tips to help you lose those extra inches:

Journal Your Eating Habits

According to a study, food journaling allows you to keep track of what you put in your mouth. As a result, you monitor your eating habits and limit your food intake.

Have Eggs for Breakfast

Instead of having a grain-based breakfast, eat eggs. They have fewer calories and keep you satiated for at least 36 hours. This stops you from snacking and eating more, which in turn helps you lose body fat.

Exercise Whatever Way You Can

Research shows that in order to lose weight, it’s important to exercise. If you are not a fan of heart-pumping physical activity then there are plenty of ways to get your body moving such as cleaning, cooking, a walk in the mall with your friends etc.

Drink Black Coffee

Coffee contains antioxidants, which helps boost your metabolism. Moreover, it also allows you to burn more fats. Avoid adding milk or sugar in your coffee and have a cup early in the morning to kick start your day.

Try Intermittent Fasting

According to a study, intermittent fasting allows you to restrict your calories without losing any muscle mass. This allows you to eat a measured amount at a given time and then use that as fuel for your energy the entire day.

Don’t Skip Meals

Skipping meals does not help you lose weight. In fact, it rewires your brain and makes you crave high-calorie food. So, eat the right amount of food at the right time and you won’t feel like opening the fridge door every 5 minutes.

Sleep At Least 8 Hours

The hunger hormone “ghrelin” increases when you don’t get enough sleep. As a result, the satisfaction hormone “leptin” also decreases and both of these increase your weight. When you feel intense hunger, your body craves sweet foods. As you can imagine ― the less you sleep, the more high-calorie food you eat.

Stop Eating Foods With Added Sugar

It’s time that you started reading the ingredients label before purchasing any tin food. Added sugar include high fructose corn syrup, which increases your weight.

Consume Fewer Carbs

By consuming fewer carbs, your body starts to use the stored fat for energy. This weight loss tip helps you lose weight 2 to 3 times faster than standard diets and even improves your health.

Snack on Healthy Food

If you do get hungry then snack on healthy food items such as nuts, whole fruits, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and baby carrots. This is one of the best tips on how to lose weight.
